Gold


Gold, a chemical element, has been highly sought as a precious metal ever since our history. From the beginning of our history recorded, gold remains a highly valued metal climbing over 135% in value in the past year alone. The recent for the rise in the price of gold is just because of the annual worldwide mine production has decreased down nearly 8% since 2001. In accordance to our past data 161,000 tons of gold have been mined wherein yet more than half of that extracted in past 50 years. Mettalic yellow is the color of pure gold. Gold has been used widely as a common element for the exchange in monetary terms. Pure gold is very soft that it not possible for usage. Thus copper, silver nor any base metal is used to harden it. The world's largest solid gold brick weighing 220kg which is worth over US $7.8 million at today's price. This is now located at Jinguashi Gold Museum in Ruifang, Taipei. It is said that gold prospectors mine for the precious metal on the earth on the river of Dagau, Zaragoza province, Cauca and Colombia. About 8,000 gold prospectors work illegally on the Dagua River in order to support their families.
